We came, We saw, We surprisingly didn't get stuck!

The little hijet that could, really did in it's stock OEM configuration! Other than the occasional 'small for another vehicle/ potentially catastrophic for the Ktruck' rock or rutt in the road that caused the ground to come up and kick us in the undercarriage. We had a great run up Arizona's Mt. Ord with only one small section that felt like we were going to get down it ok, but on the way back I thought we were going to have to have one if us get out and  push while the other crept up the grade in first gear.

Jarm racing transmission hustle

Ramping up for the Mongol Rally X Poles of Inconvenience we are working to get the truck squared away in it's OEM configuration.

This means the oil leak that came with it from Japan has got to be corrected as well as all the fluids and disposables replaced with new.

We are going with ROYAL PURPLE for all of our powerplant fluids  from the engine back to the diffs!

Unfortunately while trying to replace the rear main seal on the engine to seal that leak we found out the input shaft seal was also leaking and the clutch was on its last leg!  In a last ditch effort to save the weekend plans JC  at Jarm Racing and I tore the transmission apart over the span of 2 nights  and I pulled a clutch plate out of my ASS by running the old used up one to a local shop for refurbishing.

With an hr before Real work started we were able to get the truck together on Friday morning at 6am ready for the weekend.
